  After having multiple dogs for several years we decided to adopt a deaf Catahoula Leopard dog from our local animal shelter. After about 6-weeks weeks we had a rare incident with two of our dogs collars getting tangled. A fight ensued and then the whole pack balance went haywire. Our two females couldn't be in the same room after that. I immediately contacted the shelter to let them know of our problem in case we had to return our beloved Bella. I was offered some brochures with my adoption package and SW Fl k-9 academy was one. Dennis responded to my email within two days and we had a personal appointment within a week. After two months of personal and group therapy, we were once again able to have the two females together in one room. Now 5-months later it was like the situation never happened. We will never know why this incident triggered the response we got. Bella was a stray, so we don't know her background. Because of Dennis we were able to keep a homeless dog that needed a forever home. We are so grateful, because the thought of returning her to the shelter broke our hearts. He is a wonderful person and his love of dogs earns our greatest respect.
